A LOOK INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Here you will find examples of classroom management, parent communication, and learning centers developed during my field experiences and my time as a Teaching Assistant in primary and intermediate learning support classrooms.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Classroom management is the number one way to keep students engaged in the classroom. Setting rules and expectations with the students at the beginning of the school year will set a foundation for the entire school year that will provide for a functional learning environment. Click the button below to view my classroom management and behavior management techniques.

PARENT COMMUNICATION
Parent communication is one the most important components to keeping a functional and an effective classroom. Click the button below to see my implemented parent communication.

LEARNING CENTERS
Learning centers are also an important part of the classroom environment, no matter what setting. Click the button below to view some of my self-created and implemented learning centers.
TEACHING EXPERIENCES
Below you will find short descriptions of each of my teaching experiences as an undergraduate and a certified teacher.

TEACHING ASSISTANT
HIGHCLIFF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
November 2017-Present
Currently I am working as a Teaching Assistant in the North Hills School District. This position has helped me gain experience in primary and intermediate learning support in literacy and math. I am also working one-on-one with a third grader in literacy using the Wonder Works curriculum.

5 & 6 LEARNING SUPPORT AND K-1 SOCIAL SKILLS (STUDENT TEACHING)
KEYSTONE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
March 2017-May 2017
During this experience I taught literacy to fifth and sixth grade students. In 6th grade I developed a writing unit where the students had to describe their dream vacation to the reader before revealing the location in the concluding paragraph. I also administered the KTEA-II and developed an IEP and a positive behavior support plan for the same student. In the mornings I taught k-1 social skills to a small group of students on the autism spectrum.

1ST GRADE (STUDENT TEACHING)
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC SCHOOL
January 2017-March 2017
During this experience I taught all subjects to a first grade regular education class. This was a unique experience because I had already taught the students in kindergarten during a previous field experience. This experience also allowed me to develop a unit plan on snow. There were many hands-on activities throughout the unit that the children loved. I also developed a classroom behavior management plan which can be found under the "Classroom Management" tab.

8TH GRADE ELA LEARNING SUPPORT (FIELD EXPERIENCE)
DUBOIS AREA MIDDLE SCHOOL
November 2016
During this experience I taught 8th grade ELA learning support for 2 periods and then pushed into regular ed classrooms for the remainder of the day. I also administered the KTEA-II and developed an IEP for the student who was administered the KTEA-II. This experience not only allowed me to grow as an educator but it allowed me to discover the type of teacher I want to be. I had an amazing co-op who showed me what it truly meant to love your students. Each student came from a different background that was uniquely difficult for each one of them.

K-3 AUTISTIC SUPPORT/LIFE SKILLS (FIELD EXPERIENCE)
VICTORY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
October 2016
During this field experience, I gained invaluable experience with children on the Autism Spectrum. I was placed in a K-3 Autistic Support/Life Skills classroom where I was able to interact with 8-10 students on a daily basis. During this experience I implemented lesson plans and training plans. I was also able to implement a hands-on math assessment to my students. During this experience I also wrote an IEP and ecological assessment and implemented the ecological assessment.

4TH GRADE (FIELD EXPERIENCE)
HICKORY GROVE ELEMENTARY
April 2016
During this field experience, I gained my first real teaching experience in a traditional public school. I was also given a lot of teaching experience during our 5-day unit plan where my block partner and I taught all 5 of the classes we saw during the day. We also developed a Math-opoly bulletin board game which can be found under the "Learning Center" tab.

KINDERGARTEN (FIELD EXPERIENCE)
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC SCHOOL
October 2017-November 2017
During this field experience I gained a lot of teaching experience as well as a lot of experience writing lesson plans incorporating the project approach. We also took a really cool field trip where an owner of M&B Services had one of his drivers bring a cement truck to our placement and let all of the kids look inside. We then walked down the street to Clarion University to see the work his company had been doing on the new suites on campus.
